PhD Position: Digital Twin for Personalized Radiotherapy in Prostate Cancer

Digital Twin for Personalized Care and Planning in Prostate Cancer Radiotherapy

Funding: PEPR Santé Numérique

Objectives

  • Mechanistic Modeling: Enhance a 3D multiscale model to simulate tumor growth and the "5 R's of Radiobiology" at a cellular level
  • Virtual-Real Synchronization: Develop algorithms to identify patient-specific biological parameters using longitudinal quantitative MRI (qMRI) data
  • Clinical Integration: Utilize real-time data from MR-Linac platforms to update the Digital Twin during treatment

Required Profile

  • Education: Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computational Physics, or Computer Science
  • Technical Skills: Strong programming skills (C++, Python), experience in mechanistic/mathematical modeling or stochastic simulations (Monte Carlo)
  • Knowledge: Optimization algorithms, data fusion, Medical Imaging (MRI/qMRI), image processing
  • Soft Skills: High autonomy, scientific curiosity, ability to work in multidisciplinary environments
  • Language: Fluency in English; French is a plus

PhD Position: Biological Adaptation of Radiotherapy via Quantitative MRI on MR-Linac

Biological Adaptation of Radiotherapy Treatments via Quantitative MRI on MR-Linac

Funding: PEPR Santé Numérique (co-funded with Brittany Region - ARED)

Objectives

  • Sequence Development: Develop new quantitative MRI sequences acquired during treatment sessions
  • Biological Feature Extraction: Extract specific biological characteristics of the tumor from images
  • Digital Twin Integration: Integrate biological data (such as hypoxia) into a multi-scale Digital Twin to adapt treatment
  • In Silico Optimization: Use the Digital Twin to simulate treatment outcomes and optimize therapeutic ratio

Required Profile

  • Education: Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computational Physics, or Computer Science
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of quantitative MRI and image processing, interest in mechanistic modeling and in silico simulations
  • Knowledge: Radiotherapy principles and medical imaging workflows
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work in multidisciplinary environments (clinical and research)
  • Language: Fluency in English; French is a plus
